Old people and disabled people don't cause public safety issues. Comparing the problems associated with homelessness-- crime, public urination/defecation, drug use, trash, etc.-- to seeing old people and disabled people (?!) is quite insulting.

No, it isn't.

You just can't round up people as the OP suggested because you don't like looking at them.

How is that relevant to the issue? The only Westside communities which don't have renter majorities are Culver City and Westchester (maybe Ladera also?)

Anyways, to answer the question: Burbank and Glendale. Torrance city doesn't seem to have many (as opposed to the adjacent areas which are in the city of LA but have Torrance zip codes)

I never suggested it. I'm asking on behalf of some other folks up north who live in a post industrial city with high homeless and high crime.

Thanks to all for your answers.

It is relevant because renters are not concerned about property values.

They are just as concerned about safety and the health of a neighborhood. Renters vs. owners isn't relevant to the issue at all. Policing and government is. Areas in the city of L.A. are inundated with homeless, due to L.A. policies of surrender to the homeless and issuing them a blank check to do whatever they want.

Beverly Hills is mostly composed of renters but they're very strict when it comes to the homeless.

Are some cities pushing homeless into poorer areas of LA city or Santa Ana borders or some other areas making their own cities somewhat more appealing while making LA and Santa Ana more a dump than before? That sucks. I do think all areas even the rich ones should build places for homeless like vets or families with children, at least

LOL why? Do you get to live in Bel Air or Mount Olympus if you can't afford to?

Neither should the homeless.

So any vets or families with children that have no home should get free housing at our expense? I wonder if we would ever meet the endless demand of people streaming from every crappy place in America only to be lucky enough to be homeless in So Cal and be in line for free housing...coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Orange County has a long history of dumping their homeless on L.A.

L.A. should not be responsible for the homeless problems of the whole region. I support much tougher measures on the homeless in L.A., that should be clear from my posts. But L.A. should not be responsible for O.C.'s problems in addition to its own.
