Anybody send their kids or know anything about Valley Christian Schools in Cerritos/Bellflower? My husband went there and it is an awesome school! Just hate the area it's in. I don't want to live in LA, but Orange County. Can someone please tell me where these kids travel from? I'm sure it's from all over. I just don't really want my kids traveling much more than 1/2 hour daily to school (that's a total of 1 round trip). My husband has driven me around and around that area, and I have yet to see a neighborhood that I could even stand to live in. I need a place that's scenic where I can go for daily walks and feel safe. Why move to where the weather is great if you can't even get out and enjoy it? He said I'd like Fullerton in the OC, but it's still probably a little bit of a hike to the Bellflower/Cerritos area. We just want a Private School for our kids to attend and we have one in HS already, so we need one or more that spans the grades.

There's not much truely scenic in this area outside of some areas in Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, eastern Orange/Santiago Canyon, and south OC. The area is mostly suburban, and plenty of areas are great to walk in or have nice parks to walk in, but thats pretty much it.
Valley is a great school and it has a large attendence area from Bellflower, Lakewood, Cerritos, etc, but you aren't going to find much "scenic" around here. |

Thanks for the input. Maybe we'll just have to venture into Orange County after all, or San Diego? Not sure about there, haven't been there a whole lot. My husband has a brother in the Mission Viejo area. Doesn't seem to be any large Private High Schools around that area. If we found a good school the next step would be for my husband to find a job. He's a Doctor. I'm sure all the top notch ones want to live there, so it could be somewhat competitive.

mission viejo, lake forest, and the surrounding area will definitely have more scenic views, but will be more expensive. san diego also has some nice scenic areas as well.

We say "OC for Orange County". There is no "The" in front. "The OC" was a TV show. Ever since then, CA transplants have been calling OC "The OC". I have lived here all of my life, and worked and lived in OC myself at one time. I never heard Orange County residents ever referring to it as "The OC". Just a tip.
