Its really a shame that Jerrys deli in Woodland Hills closed after over 40 years last month. Does anyone know what tenant will replace Jerrys former location in Woodland Hills? Another jewish deli in that space would be nice.

It was actually opened as a Solley's and did not become Jerry's Famous Deli until 1996. The Jerry's in Encino, Studio City and Marina Del Rey are still open.

Cable's coffee shop down the street is closing down as well apparently. I'm guessing this relates to changing demographics. Their typical customer is now on a fixed income and can't afford eating a $10+ breakfast on a regular basis.

There is an interesting documentary about Jewish Delis in America. It's pretty interesting and talks about the history and how a lot of old school delis have closed down.

Jerry's food is mediocre and too expensive. If I'm looking for that kind of food, I go to Brent's. Way mo betta.

Yeah I haven't been to a Jerry's Deli in a while but I didn't feel like it was a great value. Pretty overpriced for quality..

Brent's is really good

The Jerry's Deli by me in Encino seems to always be a ghost town. There is a HUGE difference between this one and the one in Studio City which has always been a crowded almost happening place after club/movie hours. I wouldnt expect that the Encino location to be open for too much longer as they just dont appear to be doing any business except for MAYBE during lunch hours.

Studio City is a lot livelier area versus Encino or Woodland Hills.
It's hard to even find places open later at night in those areas.

Not sure if it's mostly because there isn't demand or because it's a Westwood type of situation where the neighborhoods don't want too many bars or late night places in the community.
