Can someone of my skill make it here or is there other cities in Cali or outside offer better opportunity?

That depends on many things, doesn't it?
How much do you make between the two acts per year?
Do you need a storefront for your bags or do you sell online?
Do you like Kale?

I may consider a store front. Is there lots of red tape or is the process of applying for sales tax ID, give paperwork, etc fast and simple. How's the business climate in LA?

Honestly...if you have to ask, you probably won't survive. In LA, a DINK couple has trouble making ends meet with a household income of $100k.

L.A is known for being difficult to open a business. People still do it of course but the city is very big and bureaucratic.

This is not about your type of business but it was a good article from a few years ago about how a lot of beer breweries got frustrated trying to open in L.A so they started opening in South Bay cities

Craft brewers find it’s best to do business outside of L.A.

Still need to keep in mind your market base , even if a city is very business friendly if the people in the are aren't willing or able to buy your products or services you will go out of business.

On the state level Texas is usually towards the top for top states for business while CA often comes in near the bottom or at least a lot lower.

It's competitive but on the other hand there is opportunity because there are a lot of people with money living in L.A and it's a big population as well.
There are services that exist in L.A that would have no market in some other cities. For example a Luxury Pet Hotel probably wouldn't be a big hit in a small midwestern town, but you see them in L.A

How well are you doing where you live currently?

No. I am a DINK but my household income is higher.

I'm going to make a generalization here but people do not normally move to LA without an established career. That or a couch to crash on, or a nice savings account. If your purse business is booming and you're selling online, that's great, you just have to worry about the [presumed] COL increase. On the other hand if you're just getting your feet wet, it would be wise to stay planted and grow more roots, read up on business practice / store front.

I agree. There are certainly lots of small/independent businesses that thrive in LA but things like hairdressers and even purse business and other designer clothes/accessories are very saturated in LA and competition is tough and if you are not already very seasoned at running a business then you probably will be out of business before you figure those things out

Hairstyling is good during the holiday season. Handbags could be better as most people here in Florida wants Walmart price. Wages here is pretty low

Unless you're in a hot coastal city, the COL is also very low by comparison to LA. This doesn't sound like the right time in your career/business to be making the leap.
