I'm moving to Los Angeles within the next two weeks. What should I know? I've lived in New York, Philadelphia, Orlando, Atlanta, and now Birmingham (and grew up there). I am a Music Producer and Audio Engineer.

Thank you!

What exactly do you want to know? Have you been to LA before?

I think OP wins the prize for "Most Generic Question about L.A. Ever".

Yes. What should you know? Hopefully know a lot of people in the music and film/tv industry because there are hundreds of audio engineers including the best ones in the world and you'll be competing against them for work and many have been working in LA for 10-40 years and already have all the connections

Best schools (private/public), most diverse areas, best place to enroll for real estate course(s), and how is public transportation? I have heard that it is non-existent for the size of population.....

Better, but still lots of vagueness. The number one thing you probably ought to know is that Los Angeles is HUGE and there is a difference between L.A., the city and the general metro area that is also referred to as Los Angeles. Most diverse areas - in terms of what? Income, different races intermingling, sport team fan bases, etc?

Public transport isn't great. It's improving slowly and only for certain areas of Greater L.A.

Thank you!
California Speedway is in Fontana. BTW, are you a Jimmie Johnson fan? I don't like him and I think that Team Hendricks cheats.

Uber and Lyft go everywhere though, and these days ride sharing is an important part of any city's transportation network.
