"Garcetti spreading lies" isn't a question.

Trump is exhibit A of what ? My boy ? The next PRESIDENT you mean ?

So there was a rise of hate crimes since about 5 weeks ago ? Really ?
Speaking of fear you don't think Garcetti is spreading fear of Trump having called him a racist and bigot and all other kinds of names . Don't you see how this is fear mongering and race baiting?

In November the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting division released its annual report (2015) on hate crime statistics. The number of "bias-motivated incidents" reported to law enforcement officials in that year rose 6% with majority (59%) having to do with race and another significant portion having to do with religious bias or sexual orientation. The report says specifically that more than 5,800 incidents of hate crimes were reported to authorities, involving 7,121 victims. Of the known offenders, "48.4% were white, 24.3% were African American, and race was unknown for 16.2% of offenders." Anti-Muslim hate crimes grew by an astonishing 66% in 2015, according to the FBI report.

Incident reports indicate that the growth of hate crimes will continue in 2016. NBC News reported that more than 300 incidents of harassment or intimidation were documented by the Southern Poverty Law Center in the week following the election. Reports came from Maryland, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and other states. They ranged from "Trump Nation, Whites Only" scrawled on an Episcopal church where some services are held in Spanish to "Colored" and "Whites Only" signs placed above drinking fountains at a public high school.

Even before the election there were many bias incidents reported including three men, calling themselves The Crusaders, were charged with conspiracy for planning to massacre the mostly Somali immigrants populating an apartment complex in Garden City, Kansas. They were found out before the began their attack when one of their girlfriends reported them to the police. One of the men was caught on tape saying they should "spare no one, not even babies."

In an incidence of arson at the Hope Well Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi, the words "Vote Trump" were spray painted on the outside the building in which the interior was consumed by fire. I've seen the photographs.

I don't know what kind of incident report Mayor Garcetti is collecting, but he'd be a fool not to keep track. The FBI will have the reports for 2016 compiled eventually. It's hard not to observe extremists being emboldened by Trump's election.
