In the valley if there are any whites left in the valley.
In the desert way out like Palmdale or San Bernardino County.

Most are out in the San Bernardino county areas which are not part of LA.

I still see some working class people in Santa Monica, but that's probably because they have lived here for so long that they pay $200/month in rent. For the most, the working class white population has moved to the IE: Fontana, Ranchom Cucamonga, and to places even further out. Even cities like Corona and Temecula that were once affordable alternatives to Orange County are now middle to upper-middle class. I would also say that a very large percentage of working class whites from the LA area have also moved out of state to places like Phoenix and Las Vegas.

Also El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, but not in any new homes. The homes they occupy have been in the family for more than 50 years, in some cases directly adjacent to newer homes for 200k+ /yr families.

This thread reminds me of another thread on middle class in LA. For example, the dockworker from Willmington...he's pulling in maybe $70K.

Middle class. How do you define it?

Where did the middle class go?

How do the middle class survive in SoCal?

which former Middle class areas of LA in decline

Nice middle class neighborhoods?

Would the middle class mentioned in this thread's posts be middle class in other middle America cities?

I don't think so. My husband and I make about the same as or even more than our relatives in the Chicago area and they live MUCH better than we do. They can afford to buy houses while we are stuck in a little one-bedroom apt. here. My husband makes really good money and it is sad that we are barely middle class here - which is why we are probably moving to Florida soon.
