Approx how far would a commute be from Santa Monica/Marina Del Rey to Beverly Hills for an 8:30am job vs. a commute from Brentwood to Beverly Hills at the same time?

Is there an extended stay place in Brentwood to recommend?

i don't think these times are taking morning rush hour traffic into consideration. (see similar thread re brentwood to westwood commute, where several posters confirmed travel time exceeding 45 minutes.) it has taken me more than an hour to drive from beverly hills to santa monica on SM blvd during afternoon rush, with traffic coming to a complete stop at times, long in advance of the red lights. (i can remember my car idling in front of the mormon temple for a full 15 minutes!) even still, i wouldn't have dreamed of getting on the 10 at that hour.

there's just no easy or fast way to get around the westside before 10 am, or after 2pm.

the original poster asked specifically about the time it would take at 8:30am between those different locations and Beverly Hills. Maybe I should have mentioned that these morning commute times will not be the same as the evening commute, but she didn't ask. In regards to the evening commute, it will definitely take more time, atleast 5 - 10 minutes.

However, I have plenty of experience with the westside commute traveling from both Playa Del Rey and Santa Monica (near the beach) to Century City for nearly 2.5 years now. From PDR to Century City, the commute ranged from 25-45 minutes each way, and for Santa Monica, the commute is about 15-25 minutes each way. Since Century City borders Beverly Hills, I just added 5-10 minutes to make up for this.

One more big thing, do not commute on Wilshire! The new Santa Monica Blvd is faster and worth going out of the way for if you choose to commute from Brentwood to Beverly Hills. Olympic and Pico are even better than Santa Monica Blvd if you aren't too far from either of those streets.
