Default Commute: Corona to Santa Monica

Hi, I live in Corona off of the 15 right next to Mira Loma. I might have to commute to a job in Santa Monica for the next few months before the roommate and I are able move to LA. Some questions:

1.) What is the fastest/easiest way to commute? According to Mapquest, I should take the 15 to the 60W to the 10W. Is that my only choice? Or is there a better/easier route?

2.) Must be at work by 9 -- what time should I anticipate to leave my house? What kind of traffic should I expect at that hour?

3.) If my memory serves me right, the 10W from the 60W passes through the 101 and then the 405 interchanges. Are those the horrid, horrid intersections that LA commuters are constantly frustrated over?

Thanks everyone!

Leave home by 5. Don't forget to take some Prozac.

The original post might win the worst commute of the year award.

This will be horrible. Does "War and Peace" come on books on tape?

Visit

Sigalert.com - Personalized Traffic Reports

during the times you expect to commute. If you need to be there by 9AM you probably need to leave like 630-700AM.

Corona and Santa Monica both have airports. I suggest flying lessons.

That's a torture even the Spanish Inquitors would consider cruel.

60/10/5fwys = east LA interchange. Worst place in the world to be at 8am on a weekday

Either you're lyin or you'll spend more time in traffic per day than sleep time.

How about this route:

15 > 210 > 134 > 405S

are those freeways better in the morning?

theres really no good way to do this. you may want to consider the metrolink though. once you get to union station in LA, then you'll hop on the big blue bus #10, which is an express bus to santa monica and goes by all the major job centers in santa monica.
