Just commute from a safer area. It's not worth it to live in East LA

All I can give as far as advice for the aformentioned cities would be to live in Whittier/La Habra or even La Mirada. These are ALL decent areas and have a good police presence. In particular, the "Uptown Whittier" and East Whittier areas are really nice. Established. Besides, even by bus...L.A. is only 30 minutes away!!
