I used to drive from Camarillo to Santa Monica 4 days a week and it drove me NUTS. And this was 8 years ago, when traffic wasnt even as bad. I personally wouldnt be able to do Camarillo to DTLA.

My co-worker commutes from Ventura to DTLA every day via Metrolink/Metro. I can see it wears on him, especially since he has young children.

Although he does say the ride itself is relatively pain-free as you have cell reception the majority of the 1.5hr commute, so he counts much of it as working time and spends less time in the office. My guess is it would be unlikely you could get away with that?

It's not cheap, either:

Camarillo to L.A. Union Station
Regular Price

One Way$12.25
Round Trip$24.50
7-Day Pass$85.75
Monthly Pass$343.00
I see the OP addressed it, but many companies cover the cost. Mine did when I worked south of downtown and lived in the Valley.

You might want to find an ideal solution. Three hours a day on a train is not that.

Oh well, most marriages end in divorce anyway! Even if you had a good solution, you're still more than likely end up in family court.
I have to agree, in a situation like this someone has to look at changing jobs if you want thing to work out and have a decent life/work balance.

Don't really think it will ruin my life, but to each his own.
That's wonderful, but you have to make some changes here. Sorry, as anrev said marriage(especially these days) is tough, you have to make some trade offs in life.
