With the cost of living as high as it is in Los Angeles, it is considered peanuts

Yes. That's the very definition of peanuts.

It's considered peanuts even in Michigan. In L.A., that's worse than peanuts.

True. My point was not to move cross country to make barely above minimum wage

Ok so how much wouldn't be considered peanuts? I can't help that the minimum wage in Michigan is peanuts.

I'd say an amount where you can actually make enough to rent your own place .
Buy your own food . Pay your utilities and all other bills .

Also enough to go out once in a while and have fun .

This article from a couple years back mentions you need to make $33 hr to rent the average apartment in L.A

LA residents need to make $33 an hour to afford the average apartment | 89.3 KPCC

$33 an hour? That's more than what nurses make this is exactly why I would have a roommate. In Michigan you can get an apartment for $700 per month in a decent area.

This entire thread to discover that Michigan is cheaper than Southern California?

Well I don't understand why my other friend struggled so much then he's a nurse just seems like everyone struggles. This is why I try to help my other friend out if I can because I know it's hard to make it in LA. Yes to some this maybe stupid but I have the money I need for my D.A program and will move out once I finish.
