Hi guys, I need a place to live in the SFV. I've recently moved here to be in the film industry and need a cheap place to live while I get things settled. Mostly I've done online in the past but now I need to move out to LA to make it in the big leagues.

I'm looking for a room under $500 but I would be willing to exchange other types of compensation if that could help me get a nicer place. Any suggestions?

Well keep in mind that Chatsworth is the porn area, if it ever comes to that...

Came here for this. Was not disappointed.

Red flags abound:

- Movie star in the making doesn't know how to spell "James Dean"
- "Other types of compensation" sounds shady even without the obvious implications
- $500 will buy you a closet in today's SFV, not a room...unless, of course, Arleta and Panorama City are on your radar

You need to check yourself before you wreck yourself.

If I meant to type James Dean I would have.

Is that an actual possibility? Is it mainly in return for free rent or would there be other perks involved as well?

What's the commute like from West Hollywood to SFV?

Uhhh...as a houseboy the perks would be provided by you, assuming you are a cute gay guy

I've seen people post looking for stuff like that on Craigslist .
People that want a room below market rent and say they can clean , run errands etc .
Not sure how often they actually find a room .
Guess it would be worth a shot but I can see how those situations could get messy .
