Today in Pasadena? Well, imagine walking into an oven.

The UPS dude dropped off a small package at the office, I thought there was lava inside it. The package was so hot!

I'm out here now. Good golfing weather. Little bumpy when I was flying through the Banning Pass, though.

This week, one cannot say, "Well, it's a dry heat." It feels like we're living in the South.

As noted earlier beware of lightning induced fires.

I'm in Pasadena. It was a weird day yesterday (and again today it seems). Started out with rain/lightning yesterday morning and very humid. By around 2pm or so it still wasn't that hot, maybe like 85. Then I went out at 3:30/4:00 and it was 101. It really shot up in the afternoon and stayed hot. It was also raining again at about 4pm. It was still 90 degrees at around 8pm and was 80 on my way to work at 6am today.

Moisture plume now stretches from El Paso through SoCal to Big Sur and is curling north.

Forecast of elevated base convection through at least Th.

Lots of dry lightning potentially in the mix.

A nice thing about the SW Monsoon is how it breaks up the monotony of Mediterranean Summer weather.

At the moment I'm checking out radar. There is a cell featuring a bit of rotation working its way up CA-25. We'll see if it hangs together long enough for me to see it up close a personal later today.

Fun stuff (unless you are in it directly in a bad way).
