Actually, the turn signals work, but they only blink once, and AFTER the driver has already changed lanes.

I found it very difficult to change lanes "IF" I used my turn signals--the people just would not let me move over. After a few missed off ramps I learned to look over my shoulder very carefully, judge the distance between the cars in the lane I needed to move to (hopefully see a person busy talking on their phone and not paying attention or just a slow driver) and dash into the spot infront of them. This is what worked for me. No, it's not legal but it does work!!

It seems people that do use signals subconsciously use them while they are turning versus "signaling" that they intend to make a turn. I already can see someone turning - her signals aren't providing any extra information. I want to know she is turning two or three seconds before she initiates the turn.

Anyone know why the fine is like $271 (or $351 or whatever)? Why the odd number?

Actually by the time they add "adminstrative and legislative fees, it's over one thousand. But to guess at an answer, so people will remember it.

The one thing that drives me absolutely crazy, and I ONLY see it in So Cal. People NEED to stop and "park" in the middle of the strip mall right in front of the store so they can pick someone up or let someone out. There could be 4 BILLION empty spot less than 3 feet away and they will still stop in the middle of the lane to do this. Then when you honk give give them the 1 finger salute they get rude about it. I get a little more vocal about it are people really that lazy? I though everyone in So Cal worked out

We do! But we're so tired afterwards, we don't have the energy to walk the three feet!

For some reason, it seems like people hear have absolutely NO tolerance for people talking on their phones while driving. Don't get me wrong, if your skills are already limited, you should be focusing all your attention on the road, anyway. But more often than not, whenever I see someone do something stupid (pretty much everytime I drive somewhere) they're never on the phone. It almost seems like people are jealous that someone else actually has someone to talk to. Get some friends and quit hatin! And when the light turns green, how about not waiting 10 seconds b4 accelerating??

People who have nowhere to go should stay and let the rest of us get to where we need to. I have plenty of people to talk to, but I'm not desperate enough to need to talk to them while I'm driving.
