Default Canadian wants to work in Lancaster, California

Hello everyone, thx for reading, I wanted to know if anyone knew of any companies in the Lancaster area that would hire a Canadian. The story is my sweetheart lives down there and I want to move there from Vancouver Canada. I have a high school education and have been in sales/management for most of my life. I would be willing to do any occupation for decent pay.
Hope to hear from the helpful, have a great day,
thx in advance
all the best,

I don't want to be a downer but I think you're going to have a hard time finding an employer willing to sponsor you. Honestly it is very hard to get a visa without having a skill that is in need. I'm looking to move to L.A after school but my job(R.N) will be covered by NAFTA. If you are in a profession covered by NAFTA, it is very simple to get to the U.S.
Also it looks like the U.S is heading into a recession and for an employer to sponsor you for a job they have to say that there were no Americans able to do it. Also from what I have read there is not a lot of well paying work in the Palmdale/Lancaster area, many people commute to L.A. This would not be a fun commute...think commuting from Chilliwack into Vancouver .
Finally Palmdale/Lancaster has a reputation as a very high crime area...coming from Vancouver, I would find living somewhere that crime infested very scary...we just don't have a place to comparable to it up here. Anyhow the only way I see you getting down there is through marriage or retraining in a profession covered by NAFTA.

Any way you can get him/her up to Vancouver? You'll think you died and went to hell if you move to Lancaster. The only green you'll see will be the road signs and the graffiti.

WHY IN HELL would you move from Vancouver to Lancaster? have him/her move to you.
Once you're married and a US citizen work shouldn't be an issue, until then you'll need to work on the Down Low.

all the best,
DON"T DO IT !!! I came down here from Alberta, and wish I had never left. The Antelope Valley is HELL. Windy all the time. If you like being outside.... forget it!! And now it's become a haven for gangs. A visit to our local mall will make you think you are in Mexico, not California. My wife & I will be moving soon. Maybe back to Canada. California used to be one of the best places to live in the country. Sadly, now it is one of the worst!

Either you moved down here or not, Dragan, as a fellow canadian, you're going to hate Lancaster. Even though your sweetheart lives in Lancaster, the two of you would have a better life in YVR. If you have to come to the area, then reconcider Santa Clarita!

+1
I was born and raised in the PNW and even lived in Kaleden, BC.
If you like being outside, this place will make you hate it.
Quite honestly, of the many places I have lived, this is the only one I have hated
