Default Anyone else ever work at a SoCal Theme Park?

Could be interesting, maybe not. But, how many who read this thread have worked at one of the Southern Cal Theme or Amusement Parks?

My first, official, job (at 15yo) was working one of the concession stands at Marineland back in the mid-seventies. Right across from the otter pool and just above the stadium where the high-divers performed. Back at that time, it was a huge source of summer jobs for kids who lived on "The Hill." I ended up staying for 3-yrs until I graduated HS.

Anyone care to reminisce? Anyone even remember Marineland?

I worked at Disneyland for 3 years from 1998 - 2001 during high school and the beginning of college. I have not been back since, nor have any interest in ever going again. It's not such a horrible place, but working there really ruins the whole fantasy vibe. Plus its gets too crowded for me and the rides are weak compared to Six Flags.

So whatever happened to them closing down 6 Flags? Is it true they decided to not close it?

I remember Marineland - I believe I was about 7 years old when we went as a family. I loved it! It was a cool place, shame it's gone now.

Didin't Sea World basically buy off Marineland to eliminate competition?

I have a friend who works in costume at the Happiest Place on Earth - he's been doing it for hears and lovin' every minute of it. I couldn't handle it personally.

Charles, you Marineland 2002 picture is giving me a "forbidden" error.

I scanned the area in Google maps last night and it looks like they've torn it all down and graded it. Is it houses now?
