Yes "can be" is a good word I used to work at 6th and main in downtown Los Angeles.there was the SP Railroad. back in the 1981. I didn't have a car yet so I took buses. I walked,no one bothered me. I even went to the skid row to talk to them.they don't bother you. If you have this vibes like when you see a dog.dogs can feel it. So can people. I am also a small person,not even 5 feet.

I just have to know where in West Covina the home of the fictional character "Jack Horner", in the film Boogie Nights, is located. I lived close to West Covina about a decade ago, ironically, when BN was being filmed. I've read a couple of times that the home is actually in West Covina, not the SF valley, per the film's story. It's killing me as to where. I've seen the film a few times and I just can't make out the location by looking at the background. Sorry to waste your guys time in the midst of a more serious discussion on West Covina, but if any of you has the answer at the top of your head, much appreciated.

I find the racist and class driven statements I've read here to be very sad and reflective of the true mindset of So. Cal. I can remember when there was a time when being a working class person was something that wasn't looked down upon and they could actually save up and afford a home.

To infer one race is cleaner or maintain their property better than another is absurd. If I'm not mistaken we are all individuals.

I've lived in the San Gabriel Valley all my life, and I know all the areas, and as I have said before all these city's except for maybe South Pasadena, San Marino, and Bradbury have their pockets of nice areas, and impoverished areas, Long Beach is another good example, and the divide is getting worse because of the attitudes and mindsets I just spoke of.

Home ownership does not make one a better human being or give them privileges which they feel only they should deserve.

Can't say I disagree. Have you ever read City of Quartz, by Mike Davis? Really gets into the racial and class history of the LA Basin. It's an advanced read, pretty much at grad school level (being merely a HS grad myself, I've had to re-read a few paragraphs...lol). But the point is clear and my god does it really pull LA's mask off. Davis is known as a radical but in this book he ends every chapter with thorough references. It's hard to deny.

That being said, I'd still like to know where in West Covina the house that was used in Boogie Nights is. LOL. Thanks a bunch.

I have lived in West Covina since I was 2 and I have never really seen any trouble. Most recently, some guy was posing as a cop and tried to rape a girl in the city. I think it happened near Francisquito Ave. I don't know exactly what happened in the end. Anyways, everything above Merced Avenue is fine. Below Merced, WC starts to look more seedy. When you go east of Azusa Avenue, it starts to look much more high class. I think this is the most expensive part of the city. When you go west of Sunset Avenue, it also starts to get seedy. I'm not really familiar with the areas between Azusa and Nogales. It seems to be safe though. This area has newer houses that seem more like Walnut rather than West Covina. This is also where a lot of Filipino and other Asian stores and businesses are.
