They did not advertise enough to keep people coming I suspect. Several chain restaurants went away because of that. They thought everyone knew them so they did not need to advertise.

Yep. The rest have been converted to Popeyes restaurants.

I mainly patronized the original store in/on Echo Park and the one in Hollywood. I enjoyed the chicken when it was hot, but if it was starting to dry out - fugetaboudit.

Church's is awful. Pioneer tasted like that fake plastic "frying compound". .

X2 vote for Popeyes. They have Cajun/Creole dirty rice too.

I don't touch this stuff any more, but still wish I could have it.

Raising Cane's, good, fresh, not frozen, but not full pieces, is a tasty alternative.

I remember Pioneer Chicken, I didn't know that they still have two locations though. Wasn't their chicken a really strange looking orange color?

LOL. Perhaps just a little. But so is the chicken from Chinese restaurants.

Pioneer had good chicken. KFC has been going downhill for so long I'm amazed they are still around. Popeyes is better I think - and better sides for sure.
