While out and about in my hood (Highland Park) after dark I see people driving their cars either with no lights or parking lights only. I used to think it was only a banger thing but I see parents with kids in their cars too.
Is this a HP thing only or does this occur in other neighborhoods?
I don't seem to notice this when I'm driving in Los Feliz, Silverlake, etc. , so what's up with this?

It happens everywhere, in every state I've lived, and in every country I've visited. People forget sometimes.

People don't know the difference between their daytime running lights and headlights.

This has happened to me a bunch of times:

My headlights are on auto.

I valet park my car and the valet instinctively shuts them off.

Often takes me a few minutes to notice if I'm driving in better-lit areas.

I'm pretty sure the gang thing was an urban legend .

Maybe they are trying to be green and save the planet 🌎

I'd probably flash your high beams to notify them.

It's dangerous . You also have to have your headlights on in rain but a lot of people don't keep them on .
