$600k arent a shack but a starter 3/2 house about 1500 living square feet.

I'm well aware what the homes look like in California for 600k..... thanks. What people keep forgetting is that you don't have to be rich to get into these homes......I think we all know what it's called..................

Default Who Says There Are No Illegals in Nebraska

Haven't you heard that ICE raided the Swift & Co. meat packing plant in Grand Island, Nebraska (pop. 40,000) Tuesday and hauled off hundreds of illegal aliens? Local cops refused to help. If it hadn't been for illegal immigration, Grand Island would be shrinking, not growing.

Illegals are everywhere. Some people think it's a problem, some don't. Being a LEGAL immigrant myself, I'm mad as hell the others won't wait their turn in line!

Arrow Deeptrance, Citizenship Tests Must Be Taken In English

Sorry, DT, but in MOST cases speaking English is a requirement of becoming a naturalized citizen. Speaking as a naturalized citizen I happen to know that by statute, with only a limited few exceptions, citizenship tests must be taken in English regardless of the fact the the US has no "official" language. It is not an easy test. If you gave the test to any random group of US born citizens I doubt 50% could pass, and English is their native language. How on earth do you think someone who can't hold a conversation in English could pass the citizenship test? 'splain that, please.

I had more points but forgot them. What doesn't make sense is your insistence that California is overpriced. It's a market economy. Nobody is pointing a gun at you and forcing you to pay the market price there. If you think it's going to collapse, we'll just have to wait and see. Wish we could hook up back at this thread in 5 years... [/QUOTE]

Well prices have gone down since last time you were aware. Even with creative financing, you still need a high income or you wont be able to afford that "loan" for even one year before getting forclosed. $600k gets you alot more than a shack because prices went down!

Those above arent shacks. You can get a shack for much less

Your opinion. I wouldnt mind living in those starter 3/2 homes, just not anywhere near $600k! You want to know what I consider a shack?

$315,000
1 Bed, 1 Bath
572 Sq. Ft.
0.03 Acres

$339,926
2 Bed, 2 Bath

Theres alot of shacks for between $200k and $400k. At the $500k to $700k point this gets you a nice 3/2 starter house. If you think a $600k house is a shack, what do you call a $300k house?
