Is it realistic to find a house rental in or near the following areas that will allow a dog for $3k or less? I am moving and would like a yard for my dog. Any other areas to consider?

Burbank
Glendale
Eagle Rock
Monrovia
Pasadena

Glendale, Monrovia, or Pasadena, yes, although it'll probably be in a less nice part of Pasadena or a less nice part of Glendale. (The worst part of Pasadena is a lot worse than the worst part of Glendale, BTW.)

Burbank and Eagle Rock will be out of your price range.

Possible, but it will be a small yard.

Just did a quick search and found some rentals under $3,000. Mostly 2BR but they are out there.

What kind of dog do you have ? Be aware that many landlords won't rent to people with pit bulls for liability reasons.

Yes - depending on the size/breed of the dog and the size of the house you need. $3K should find you a rental in all of those areas, but it may be a 2 bed instead of a 3 bed, etc. Also, expect to pay a separate pet deposit.
