That seems strange to me.

Bob.
It is not politically correct to say anything bad about Pot.

I believe the official reason is because it hasn't been studied due to it being illegal federally. Government agencies that receive federal funding supposedly can't do studies on it. I don't know how true that is but it's an excuse I always hear. So majority of studies that have been done are independent or through universities. The only long term (20+) year study I have seen doesn't show any connection to cancer and it showed that people who smoked a moderate amount of pot had better lung function after 20 years then people that didn't smoke at all.

Try:https://www.drugabuse.gov/publicatio...acts/marijuana

a 2017 report
Physical Effects

  • Breathing problems. Marijuana smoke irritates the lungs, and people who smoke marijuana frequently can have the same breathing problems as those who smoke tobacco. These problems include daily cough and phlegm, more frequent lung illness, and a higher risk of lung infections. Researchers so far haven't found a higher risk for lung cancer in people who smoke marijuana.8
Marijuana and Lung Health | American Lung Association
Marijuana Smoke

Smoke is harmful to lung health. Whether from burning wood, tobacco or marijuana, toxins and carcinogens are released from the combustion of materials. Smoke from marijuana combustion has been shown to contain many of the same toxins, irritants and carcinogens as tobacco smoke.4-7

Beyond just what's in the smoke alone, marijuana is typically smoked differently than tobacco. Marijuana smokers tend to inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than cigarette smokers, which leads to a greater exposure per breath to tar.8

And cigarette smokers tend to smoke 20-40 cigarettes/day. Even Tommy Chong isn't smoking 20-40 joints/day.

Everyone should stay inside with a respirator on all day. Don't BBQ/Grill any food, don't sit by a campfire/bonfire, don't drive cars and don't breath the air in Los Angeles especially during fire season.

Pot smokers often tirelessly promote the benefits of weed for insomnia, constipation, pain, depression and many other ailments, just like tobacco. I'm not denying that medical cannabis can help alleviate pain in terminally ill cancer patient. However it is well known that the risks largely outweigh the benefits. Furthermore, the vast majority do not smoke weed not for its supposed medicinal virtues but to get high. As I've said before, I am not against weed not more than weed smokers, they can do whatever they please with their lungs and neurons. I just do not want to have someone impose their stinky smoke on me.

"Getting high" has intrinsic medicinal value so I'd argue that everyone that is using it is receiving medicinal benefits even if that's not their intention. And you don't have to smoke it.

That whiff of pot that drifts your way at a rock concert or outdoor event could damage your heart and blood vessels as much as secondhand cigarette smoke does, preliminary research suggests.

Smoking Pot is just plain stupid.
My Internist is a Pulmonary Specialist as well. I came out and asked if smoking weed would be beneficial for me and the pain I deal with from having RSD. She told me NO. She did not want me smoking it because she has seen a lot of damaged lungs from it. To be honest I could not smoke it anyway because the thought just makes me even more ill. LOL Yes it is plain stupid.

I am beginning to think the drivers out there are all smoking weed and driving erratically. Driving down the street today and a young gal in a Mercedes SUV was right up my rear then JERKS over into right lane and almost hits this small truck. She was clearly a mess. Jerking her car in and out of traffic. Pretty scary stuff ....Inglewood Avenue / Redondo Beach ...Be careful out there.

Drivers on weed tend to be slow and overcautious. It's the hard drugs that are more of a problem especially the hard upper drugs. Compare the drivers in Echo Park or Highland Park - where more drivers tend to be on weed - to drivers in Brentwood, Santa Monica, Palisades, Beverly Hills, etc. where the hard upper drugs are more popular.

That's the stupidest thing I've read all day. What evidence do you have? 100% more likely that driver was distracted by her phone like everyone else on the road here.
