My neighbor's pine tree has branches hanging over our yard and drops massive amounts of needles into our yard. He refuses to cut the tree and the branches are too far up for us to cut them. I wonder now if it's legal to shovel his needles back into his property over the fence. Does anyone know?

What purpose would that serve?

There are people who would love to have those pine needles for mulch. Consider using the needles and thanking your neighbor.

It would serve the purpose of him having to remove the needles instead of us. This is a backyard and it's a real pain having to remove a green bin full of needles every two weeks. And all our plants are covered with them.

Have the over hanging branches trimmed and be done with it. Don't be a problematic neighbor.

"I'm not sure if you could get more petty, maybe you should sit on your front step and yell at people as they walk by?"

You would be OK with having to work for an hour every two weeks cleaning up your backyard because of your neighbor's tree? These are not just a few needles but the whole backyard covered with them.

But you'd still have to take them up and remove them from your yard to throw them into your neighbor yard. Just hire some immigrants to do your landscaping if you're that lazy

Don't blame your neighbor. Personally, I would just get estimates from three tree trimmers and go with the best bid. If it's $1,000, then it's $1,000. That's life. Problem solved.

Yes, give them back their needles. It's theirs, not yours.
