Hi there,

We are looking at a possible move to the Palmdale area and was hoping to get some recommendations or guidance on elementary schools in the area? Another alternative would be Tehchapi or anywhere with good schools that is good for commuting to work in the Edwards area.

Many thanks!

Westside School District. Basically, the Rancho Vista neighborhoods.

Thanks for your reply! The Rancho Vista neighbourhood is definitely one area we're considering living in. Would you have any particular recommendations for preferred schools within the Westside School District? I've had a look at a few online including Gregg Anderson Academy, Esperanza, Rancho Vista, Leona Valley and for private Westside Christian School...but always tricky to tell too much from the Internet.

Any recommendations or otherwise greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

I’ve heard good feedback about both Esperanza & Greg Anderson academy. I don’t think you can go wrong there.

Another option is you can enroll your children in the school located at Edwards AFB since you work there, in this case the Irving Branch elementary. That elementary school is rated 7 which is as good as it gets around here, plus the kids there are all children of military & civilian employees. Just make sure the school hours fit into your work schedule.

My brother's youngest kid goes to iLead Charter Academy. The other goes to Gregg Anderson. Never heard complaints regarding either.

I've heard very good things about Bethel Christian school. I've heard hit or miss with iLead. I have a friend who was a teacher and checked out iLead and didn't like it. I have heard positive with Gregg Anderson. Noahs Ark has up to 2nd grade and thats a good one too. Another popular choice is Desert Christian. Yes, if education is important to you, private is your best bet.
