Default The Ivy

Has anyone been there? What is it like? Outrageously expensive or just moderatley over priced? Is it hard to get a reservation.

Thanks! If these aren't enough questions for you, I could certainly ask some more. :-)

I LOVE the Ivy. I've gotten into the Ivy calling ahead only 20 minutes, but it's best to make a reservation to be safe. The crab cakes are AMAZING. I think our lowest bill was about $225, highest was $350. It's pricey but not insane. Truthfully alcohol made a large portion of the bill too, so it would be a lot lower if you refrain from that. Has anybody been to Ivy at the Shore in Santa Monica?

which one? Robertson or the one in santa monica?

Depends on which day. During weekdays, you can pretty much walk in and if there is a wait, I have a few drinks at the bar. fri. & sat, you may want to call ahead. Not a huge fan of this restaurant, the servers have been spanked and show the battle scars, but its pretty good food depending on what you order.

Thanks for the tips! I was referring to the one on Robertson. My younger sister is coming in for a visit and I know that The Ivy is considered a hot spot, so I thought she might like it. However, she is a rather picky eater and price is a DEFINITE concern. I'm looking for lunch on a weekday, no alcohol. Could three people get away for under $70?

I've never heard of Ciudad. Where is it?

My sister is 22 and this is her first visit to LA. She has sort of a "90210" idea about it, very into the celeb culture. I'd like to show her something fitting with that stereotype, LOL.

Ive seen more than a few celebrities at the santa monica Ivy. Robertson also has a fair mix of tourists.
