That’s it. I’d argue that violating the court orders that protect the homeless, damn the consequences, would be effective as well. Not to mention it would endear him to the citizens of LA and portray him as a renegade politician willing to do what it takes to improve the lives of the citizens he represents. Almost assuredly cheaper than all the money they are wasting by building housing that won’t actually solve the problem.

Unfortunately the liberal “tolerant” policies have significantly lowered quality of life .
Tired of hearing about the homeless and criminals and illegals having rights . Yet we never hear about regular working peoples right to enjoy the public sidewalks , parks etc without aggressive panhandling , homeless exposing themselves in front of kids and worse .

It’s strange for politicians to not care at all about people that pay the taxes and pay their salaries.

As far as I know LA is still under the Jones v City of Los Angeles settlement, they would have to resolve that issue before they could go back to criminalizing things like sleeping on the sidewalk.

How about aggressive panhandling ? Does Jones v City of L.A protect against that too ?

How about acting erratically /distributing the peace ? Public intoxication? Exposing yourself in public ?

Littering?

Putting tents in the way of public access to sidewalks...

Honestly, the bleeding hearts are the problem. We need to expose the libs and disgust the voting masses with their hypocrisy.

Nope I'm talking about prop 55 which was an extension of prop 30. You know the "temporary" tax? What a sham!

Thankfully "my state" has no state income tax and does not allow people with less income to vote on how much money the state can take out of the higher income earners. That would never fly in a real democracy.

You know it doesn't you are just being silly. If those issues aren't being addressed that's the fault of LAPD, you probably should call your local LAPD community rep and ask them to address that.

PS acting erratically is not a crime

Not necessarily. Acting "erratically" in a manner people find threatening can fall under "menacing by word" or just outright menacing if the pan handler becomes really aggressive.

Interesting document from 2016 about homelessness in L.A., regarding the mistaken belief that most of the homeless population here have come from out of state. (See page 27.)

According to the most recent homelessness survey by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, or LAHSA, 72 percent of adults experiencing homelessness have lived in Los Angeles County for more than 20 years, and 87 percent of them have lived here for more than five years.

Unfortunately the Police Chief is selected by the Mayor.

Ours is retiring so a new one is going to be selected but most likely the next one will be even more liberal .
