LOL!
Well guess what: after mr. breaking and entering career criminal gets released after spending his obligatory 4 hours getting processed, he can go back and visit that nice family again, and again, and again! And if the homeowner actually wants to defend him or her self OR is depending on the police to protect them??? Dear Lord!
On the other hand, they ARE in California and I guess most Californians voted for the left wingers currently in the three branches - so maybe they actually want this kinda stuff to happen to them!

How are you going to pay for it? Do you even know how much it would cost?

I agree with you in principal, I want to house all mentally ill homeless people and get them off the streets.

Now explain how that would look like and how we pay for it.

If they knew they couldn't get away with it, far fewer would do it. The homeless, like other human beings, do respond to incentives and hindrances.

They can't really keep them. The thing is, it's our own mess as a society. No, none of us wanted this. And when I mean as a society. Just talking from decades ago. It's always been an issue and society has always been complacent about it and now the pot is overfilling while one group is trying to hold the lid shut, another is still adding seasoning.

(I'm assuming that this dude who broke in to that house was somebody who would have been kept in a psych hospital 40+ years ago)

Wait a minute.....Didn't the nice politicians of both the Democrat and Republican parties, and Ronald Reagan assure the public that the *community* was going to take care of the severely mentally ill? Isn't that why they kicked out the patients of those hospitals and closed them down, calling it "deinstitutionalization"?

So, how is the 'community' doing so far on this? And did any of those politicians really believe their own lies, and if not, how they were able to say them over and over again with a straight face?

But....but....I thought it was the COMMUNITY's job to do that now? Isn't that what the D/R parties were chanting and telling the public when they decided to close those hospitals down?

Would you want someone to look over your shoulder while you rub one out? I know I dont but if they do I generally say "that'll cost you a pint and the underwear you are wearing." A guy will move real fast when you ask for his underwear.
