hello all,
just wondering about some different areas of the L.A. area we want to look at the Beverly Hills area, Bel Air , Holmbly Hills . we love North Beverly Park. i like the idea of Hombly hills of its exclusivity and its community feeling. do all these go to there own school districts ? is B.H. sd a good one or is private school the way to go ? Bel Air is beautiful area but is it a gated community ? i dont get it lol ... North Beverly park is a true beauty and we can afford it but is considerd nice and exclusive ?

Beverly Hills has its own school district, but the rest of the neighborhoods you mentioned fall under LAUSD. I guess BH has some great schools, but the same can't be said for LAUSD unless you get into the charters. However, there are more than enough private schools in the area for you to choose from.

I'm not sure about some of your other questions, but i know that Bel-Air has "gates," but is not gated if that makes sense. There are a few gates to enter BA through, but I'm nearly certain that they don't open and close for residents.

They don't. The gates of Bel Air are open all of the time. I take visitors up there to enjoy the view and see the houses.

Interesting. Where are some good places to go in Bel-Air? I've never explored that area before.

There's really nothing to do. It's only fun if you like driving around looking at houses or you're an architecture buff. The houses are really nice and there is a great view of the city from the top. The same with Mount Olympus (on Laurel Cyn just past Hollywood Blvd). You can see the houses better and the view is breathtaking. Going up to these spots is actually what's kept me in L.A.
