L.A is indeed home to soccer fans. We are home to 2 pro MLS club , LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Football club .. Great to create a soccer club passion like Europe and Asia .

What are your thoughts on having 2 pro sports team in L.A ?

LAFC just found a home near USC exposition park.

Ps : I will forever be L.A Galaxy proud fan . We won 5 championships !

The way Chivas market is to target the Latino community no offense to my Latino folks . And they see the Chivas USA as 2nd team here compared to Chivas Mexican league team

To run a MLS club you need to reach to international diverse fans and sign somewhat well know players from EPL etc La Liga

I think Orange County would be a great fit for another MLS team in SoCal. The rivalry between three SoCal teams would be just as exciting as the Dodgers vs Angels and Kings vs Ducks rivalry. As for San Diego, I'm just not sure their fan base would support an MLS team. They have a hard time supporting the Padre's.

Yes, I always thought calling them Chivas is a silly idea. But has the Latino community embraced the Galaxy, and LAFC? They make up a huge chunk of population.

I've never gotten into the MLS. The name alone, Los Angeles Football Club, resonates with me. "Los Angeles Galaxy" always sounded cheesy to me, very cartoony. LAFC sounds like the name of a real football club. I may have found a team, outside of Europe, to follow based on the name alone.

2 teams in LA might be a little too much given the local market. Interest for soccer is certainly second to no other city in the country, but the enthusiasts are mostly focused in European teams for the quality, and Mexican teams for the emotional link. The local crowd is composed of maybe 90% Latinos, 5% European expats, 5% non-Hispanic Americans. As a result, club leaders know they have to make their teams appealing to the Latino community to survive, and they do so by signing Mexican/Central American players who often lack in quality. Furthermore, the MLS is only attractive to high profile European players looking for a pre-retirement team, and local talent is still scarce. The MLS tries to imitate European league by creating these derby sensation, but on the pitch the quality is still not there. I'd rather watch most European league than the MLS.
