im going to school at universal studios, and im getting pretty tired of taco bell. anyone know of any good and cheap restaurants or fast food around universal city.
possibly something like toast (the restaurant not the food). went there a few days ago, just not very close to universal city and kinda expensive. im basically looking for food $5 and under, which is pretty hard to find, but maybe there is some hidden place or something. Try the following:
Poquito Mas (Cahuenga/Magnolia and Lankershim/Ventura and another near NBC in Burbank) On N.E. corner of Vineland and Moorpark there is a burger/teriaki place that is great. In same shopping center as Pizza Hut and Laundrymat. Pitfire Pizza - Magnolia/Lankershim. The Bolognense linguini is great. There is a really good sandwich shop directly across the street from Don Cuco's in Toluca Lake. Cant remember the name but they have great Philly Subs. Thai Plate/Spoon - something like that on Riverside one block west of Cahuenga. Lunch specials around $5.00. In-and-Out burger on Lankershim near the Hollywood freeway. |

Brown Bag
$5.00 is pretty low but completely understandable on a student budget. You can make custom sandwiches all week long for that price. Brown Bag and lead a healthy life. |

Oh yes, Giamela's in Burbank is one of the best Sandwich shops. It's located next to Al & Ed's Car Electronics. Also, Corner Cottage on the Corner of Victory and Verdugo in Burbank has the best breakfast burrito and at $3.50 it's a steal of a deal. They sell a Beef bowl for Lunch that's pretty good. Pinocchio's on Magnolia between Buena Vista and Hollywood Way has some serious italian food. Check them out. |

Porto's on Magnolia in Burbank is GREAT and you can get several types of sandwiches (with plantain chips) for under $5. They are yummy, filling, and a great deal! There is plenty of outdoor seating, too.

Another thumbs up for Porto's but you could easily spend over $5 there since they have some amazing desserts as well. Also, if you're really hungry, you can try the Acapulco lunch buffett on Olive across the street from the NBC studios. I think its only $8.

Very, very true. My husband and I always spend over $20 when we go because we get things like mango and horchata smoothies, mango cheesecake, guava and cheese pastries...it's all so good!
