"How dare NFL players not stand for the anthem"

"Yea fly that rebel flag yeeeehaw"

Welcome to the new normal, where "patriots" have a problem with non violent protest, yet support flying the flag of treasonous, backward, rebels, who were hell bent on breaking up our federal republic.

I would call it irony, if not for the fact that I am not surprised by the inability of these folks to use rational, logical, frosh level reason.

Do you know of any one person who has stated both of those things?

Or rather, this has been the case for a while, but it was never brought up before. I grew up around many kids who LOVED the Confederate flag. Some of them are the same persons getting mad at NFL players for not standing for the anthem.

I supported Trump.

I don't say yeehaw.

I would never fly a Rebel flag.

I am indeed a patriot.

I am also disgusted by low IQ privileged football players pretending that there is a black genocide going on at the hands of the police. That belief is demonstrably false.

No, the other poster mentioned people flying the Confederate battleflag who are also complaining about NFL players not standing for the U.S.A. (not C.S.A.) anthem.

I'll confess I've said "yeehaw" quite a number of times in my youth, but that was when we were on our bicycles and playing Dukes of Hazzard, because it was a prime time television show on CBS at the time. OTOH, we also played cowboys and Native Americans with our cap guns, and sometimes I played a Native American so it all balances out since I was a pale-facer role playing as a minority.

I don't think that confederate flags should be displayed, given the connotations behind them.

When I was living in the South and saw them, the reason given to me for them was "Southern pride".

I still see them up here around the Erie, PA area. They sure as hell can't use the 'Southern pride' excuse up here ::
