It's been a long time sense I have gone to San Diego, But anything has to be better than Los Angeles. If at all possible get out of California.

Just curious, do you say "get out of California" because of the high real estate? Because so far that's the only thing that has bothered me here. I like it and while i don't want to retire here (because I want to own a home someday later in life), I do enjoy all it has to offer while I'm still kind of young. Sorry to offset the topic, I was just curious why you hate it here.

This question has been asked dozens of times. I suggest you go under search and type in your question. Since I'm at work doing nothing...Ill try to answer your question. San Diego is a very nice city but it's also very laid back. Los Angeles is jammed packed with people, tourists and traffic but everything you would find in NYC, you can find in Los Angeles with the nice weather, the beaches, and the house with an actual backyard. Also, nightlife in San Diego is limited to an extent but on the other hand, in Los Angeles you may never visit the same bar or restaurant twice. If you want to live in a city but don't like a fast paced eviornment than San Diego is your choice. Los Angeles changes enviornment and cultures throughout the city...you can find yourself on Wilshire and whether you decide to go north, south, east or west the scenery will change all the time.

I for one would much rather live in San Diego than Los Angeles. However, USC, one of the top business schools in the country, happens to be located in LA-- so I'm going there for the school, not the city. While I'm there I'm going to try to make the best of it and give it a chance. If by the time the employment recruiting process begins I don't want to stick around LA, I'll start looking for positions in San Diego and other cities.

Jeeze, why do people hate LA so much?
I prefer LA over SD because it's faster paced here, has a bigger city/more urban feel, and LA is more left-winged than SD. Also, probably won't bother you, but LA has much more Jews and I'm Jewish. |

It all depends on what you're looking for in a city. I love LA, but I could see myself moving to San Diego one day too. I love both places.

I LOOOVE what L.A. was. I HATE what is becoming. Why can't East Coasters stay on the East Coast and leave L.A. alone? (Yes, I'm whining)

Do you think where you're moving next, the Arkansans (sp?) are going to be saying, "quit Californicating Arkansas and go back where you came from?" Because that's how a number of states feel about Californians "invading" their state.

I have no problem with the people who move here from other places. I have a problem with people who come here and try to change it into what they left. I have never done where I've moved and I won't do it in Arkansas. If I want to live in L.A., I can always come back. But of course at the rate East Coaster are changing it, the only thing about L.A. that will be L.A. is the name.
And I think that Californians going to other states and changing it into Cali should come back to Cali. |
