this is mostly industrial. it is bounded by nothing but factories and the further south on long beach you go the grittier it gets. one good thing is that it is close to sams, as in sams hofbrau, and being two males im sure you might enjoy the dancers there. anyhow the only plus side to this part of town is that it is close to downtown, you will also be close to the blue line stop at washington and close to blue star cafe on 15th between alameda and santa fe. but otherwise this area is grittier than most, filled with trucks and people who have no other choice but to live around blighted/old/sometimes charming factories. of course we can all be wrong and it might be the lovliest converted warehouse with all the amenities you need. you should def check it out if you want to be close to DT, if you want to be close to LB, then go further south. just dont let the long beach blvd/ave fool you. you might end up as far north as here or HP/SG/LYN, which still aint LB. good luck.

someone mentioned near Cal State Long Beach. I live in 90804 and it's great. There is a general square to stick in when it comes to Long Beach in this area. East of Roswell, south of Los Coyotes Diagonal (or Atherton when you get closer to CSULB) and West of the 405. You can go all the way down to the beach and be fine. Be very careful downtown. Ocean Ave., 1st St., 2nd St. are all good. Downtown (actual downtown, Linden Ave., Pine Ave., Atlantic Ave., you don't really want to go much higher than 3rd St.) When you get closer to Alamitos Beach, you can go up to about 6th St. Once you get to where Ocean Ave. splits into 2nd St./Livingston, you're fine up until Los Coyotes Diagonal. Beware of parking too. If you have a car, closer to CSULB would be better for parking.

The rent being $650 for a 2 bedroom seems SKETCHY.
Los Angeles apartment For Rent - 2 bedrooms (broken link)

How is this neighborhood for two single males in their early twenties? I am looking for a nice and safe place to live.
Sounds like that area with the 'old-school' artist lofts.

As far as Long Beach goes, the east is what I know about and it is as suburban/safe as anything behind the Orange Curtain. El Dorado Park, Woodruff and Spring, Los Coyotes Diagonal, area around CSULB, etc.

Youre asking about a south central place address. On top of that, its 650 for a two bed. One word-Duh.....Does anyone do research on their own nowadays?
