Commute time from TO to West LA (Inglewood)?
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the real commute time is from Thousand Oaks to West LA (Inglewood). According to Google the times are:
43.8 mi – about 46 mins
up to 1 hour 40 mins in traffic
It's the 2nd part that has me concerned. Is this for real?

In my experience, Google frequently underestimates their "in traffic" times.

Yikes! Any idea what time I'd have to get on the road (both to & from) to beat the traffic? (I have flexibility at work.)

I believe Charles used to make a similar drive. Hopefully he'll see this and chime in.

Can you take the train?
Maybe metrolink to US, then the blue line to the green line?
I'm not looking at a train map right now but maybe?

For about six or eight months I did TO to Huntington Beach. I left home at 5 and got to HB a little after 6. I'd say if you left at 530, you'd get there maybe 615ish. Leaving after 530 the traffic starts to back up heading up the Sepulveda Pass on the 405 because you'd be hitting the pass around 6.
Then if your boss will let you leave at 230 you will should be OK as long as you get on the 405 north of La Cienega or the Marina Freeway. It still will be slow but not brutal on the 405 past UCLA and up the pass, home probably like 330-345.

Thousand Oaks to Inglewood on the 405 in peak rush hour is 1 1/2 hrs minimum(I would give myself about 1 3/4 hrs on that commute).
I used to drive from Century City to Inglewood on 405 (which is about 1/2 of your commute) and it took just under 1 hr usually.

Would it make a significant difference if I lived in Calabasas instead of TO? Is that far enough East to be past the 101 squeeze?
