Default Burbank or Los Feliz

Okay...moving to LA, bf wants to live in a place close to studios as he wants to be as clost to the industry as possible. I need a walkable city atmosphere, young professional crowd(don't want to be in a suburb)...I know Burbank is like the studio capital, but...what are the good/bad about these two areas.

Default I

I'd say Los Feliz for you. Very cool area...walkable...
I wouldn't really consider it SUBURBAN, but it's family oriented somewhat. A lot of young professionals and artsy types...
Burbank's nice and parts of it are walkable...but it's the epitome of suburban, so I don't know if you want to go for that or not.

Okay good to know. I think a short commute would be okay.

It's really not that bad of a commute from Los Feliz to Burbank...you'll prob. hit some traffic, however.

I'd agree with Los Feliz as your decision. I would also suggest to come visit both places before your move and see what appeals to you more. If you live near San Fernando Blvd in Burbank, the area is very walkable. Also, you could probably use the streets going to Burbank and back to Los Feliz and beat traffic.

If you want to be near most studios, choose Burbank. If you want to be a walkable shopping area, live near downtown Burbank (1st and Olive area). This area is about 10 - 15 min from the studios.

the traffic from on cahuenga at night will be horrible, but it's probably faster than the 101.

the great thing about los feliz is that you can the 5 or Riverside around the hill to the studios rather than having to use the pass.

Burbank is nice, but boring. Los Feliz is much more of a happening area. The commute between the two is pretty easy.

I agree that Los Feliz would be a better choice for you, although parking is terrible there.

I also agree that Downtown Burbank would be really great. Lots of restaurants and people. Its just not a nightclub scene, although there are two pool halls and a nice upscale brewery. Try East/up hill of 2nd and Glenoaks for apartments, from Olive north to Burbank.
