How much yall think Garcetti was paid? No way he didn't know:

FBI corruption probe of L.A. City Hall focuses on downtown development boom

The warrant, which was filed in federal court in November but reviewed by The Times this weekend, sheds new light on the investigation and shows federal investigators are seeking records related not only to Huizar but also other City Hall officials, including Councilman Curren Price and current or former aides to Huizar, Council President Herb Wesson and Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Those developers also have been told to provide information on any contributions they have made to Huizar’s reelection bid, his officeholder committee, any legal defense fund or his alma mater, Bishop Mora Salesian High School, the sources said. The subpoenas seek information on any donations made to two political committees with ties to Huizar — Community Support PAC and Families for a Better Los Angeles.

Developers in Huizar’s district also have been instructed to provide information on any gifts, meals, trips, vacations, flights, event tickets or rounds of golf they have provided to Huizar, his staff or any other council member, the sources said.

Among the information sought in the warrant were records related to trips to Las Vegas and stays at four hotels, including the Palazzo and Caesars Palace. The document does not explain why investigators want them.

We still need more housing here though.

From an article in 2014. Greenland is one of the chinese development companies mentioned in the article above.

I remember reading the article below a while back and thought that was quite suspicious. Chinese development firms don't just spend hundreds of thousands to send L.A public officials overseas for nothing.
--
"
The tab for public officials in the group is expected to be $570,000. The Port of Los Angeles and Los Angeles World Airports will contribute $214,000 and $198,000 respectively, with the remainder covered by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles and corporate sponsors including Universal Studios Hollywood, DFS, Steinberg Architects, CJ Entertainment and Greenland Holdings Group.

Greenland Holdings Group is a Chinese real estate developer of the Metropolis Los Angeles project, a $1-billion hotel and residential skyscraper planned in downtown. The City Council agreed this year to let Greenland keep $39.2 million in taxes expected from the project over the next 25 years.

LA Times article from this morning

Not a good look ..
—-
“But if Garcetti runs for president, he could also face uncomfortable questions about a topic that has gripped City Hall: Why are FBI agents seeking evidence of bribes, extortion and money laundering possibly involving L.A. city officials? And why are two of his appointees — one current, one former — being scrutinized in that probe?”

FBI corruption inquiry could bring political fallout for Garcetti and other L.A. leaders

I certainly hope the FBI investigates this Chinese interference in our local government, because this is a real thing and has actual consequences.

Yes definitely. It looks like our local officials have been looking out more for Chinese developer interests versus the interests of local residents that elected them.

This is big business right? I sure the city halls/city officials in NY, Chicago, London, Hong Kong, etc do the same sh*t. "Pay to Play" goes back hundreds of years

We have occasional city hall supporters posting on CD. Despite the irrationality of their position, much like the dingbats that support the Bakersfield to Fresno bullet train, they continue steadfast in their support of Garbagecetti and company.

Wonder why they are so quiet about this?

Ironically it seems the supporters often don’t even live in L.A
Or maybe not even C.A!

Too bad this story isn’t getting enough national press . Some across the country think Garcetti is the best choice to run the country .

They even made a rally song , yes really ...

Ready for what ? More tent cities and third world conditions across America ?
