I live in Los Angeles, and use FasTrak about once every 3 or so months, while having at least 2 or more people in my car when using the 110 Freeway 90% of the time. But I never use the toll lanes on any other freeway in California, so I never have to worry about a toll on any other freeways.

However when I was paying bills a few days ago, I decided to check to see how much money I had in my Metro Express Lanes FasTrak account, and I was shocked to learn that they have been charging me a monthly Service Fee of $1 each month! When I got my Metro ExpressLanes FasTrak account and transponder about 3 years ago, they did not charge me a monthly Service Fee.

So I was just curious when they started charging a $1 monthly Service Fee? What a rip off! I think they get enough money from people that pay those high tolls for being a single driver, yet since I had to pay for my transponder and had to have money sitting in my account, plus I donít get any information via U.S. Mail on my FasTrak account, plus I hardly every use FasTrak, I canít believe that they are now charging a monthly Service Fee for having an account. GRRRRR!!!

I've had a toll teansponder since the lanes opened, and they charged a monthly fee for most of the time they've been open, but I googled it for you and it looks like they started charging it sometime in 2014.

Hello LuvSouthOC,

Thus far, when I looked at about the last 6 statements, it has only been $1 a month Service Fee. When I tried to look at "all" of my statements since I got my account, I keep getting a message saying that those statements are not available at this time.

That is another thing I hate about my Metro Express Lanes FasTrak account, about 40% of the time, either their system is down or I can't gain access to certain information (that should be there and readily available to me) when I use their system.

Thank you Texamichiforniasota, I greatly appreciate your help and the link to that article. I wish I could gain access to my statements since I first opened my account. According to their website this afternoon (when I look at my account), all of those statements are listed, but I keep getting a message saying that the PDF file for each of those statements are not available. Yet at least now, I feel better knowing that there is at least a $1 Service Fee that had been in effect since 2014 . . . and it was not a fee that they sneaked in on me over the past several months.

Thanks again for your help, Texamichiforniasota.
