There isn't anything they won't tax. And what boggles my mind is the people here will go along with it.

There is none. Seriously there is no real solution. To build proper public transportation system in Socal would take probably trillions of dollars. The main issue is getting to metro, then taking the metro and finally getting to your destination. The first part and the last part is the hardest. I don't know many that are willing to walk miles to get to metro, take it and then again having to either walk miles, call for uber, take a bus etc. Basically by the time you do all of that you might as well just drive. Rush hour traffic is pretty much 6 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and Sat and Sun it is around 12-5 depending on weather.

^^This. The geographical area is too vast and there are too many people.
