I used to ride my bike on Colorado Blvd from the I-5 all the way to Figueroa and back (I was too out of shape to climb the hill into Pasadena). Haven't been there in years but I never got tired of the ride. I preferred it to the beach areas.

Not just Burbank/Glendale, but the whole San Gabriel foothills are great.

Glendale is ok. Both of my older boys were born at Glendale Adventist. I lived in Pasadena, but liked the OB at Glendale Adventist better than the OB at Huntington Hospital.

Our goal was always to move to La Canada or La Crescenta though. We loved Pasadena, but the schools were lacking.

But I agree with the poster who said if you can afford to rent in West LA, you can afford to rent in Glendale. Why don't you move?

There's an extremely large, noticeable presence of horrible drivers with attitude problems that have wrecked an otherwise fine city.

You gotta get out more pretty much every city in the South Bay is like this as well. Half the cities in the San Gabriel valley are like this too. Hell I'd go out and say at least half the cities in LA County are like this. The homeless live where there's alot of people densely packed for a homeless person living in Glendale doesn't make alot of sense. Majority of the homeless are in small pockets of LA City. You can't compare the 2nd largest city in the country with 4 million to Glendale a small in comparison suburb essentially. I agree though Glendale is beautiful Pasadena IMO is more beautiful LA has some of the most beautiful cities in the country. LA Canada is weathier, but there's nothing out there, but good schools and nice views.

True. But the OP believes that only people who live in L.A. proper are allowed to comment on the homeless problem in Los Angeles. And any of the rest of us who live elsewhere simply have no idea of the magnitude of the problem.

Born in Glendale and spent the first score years of my life in the Montrose/La Crescenta part of Glendale. It was a good way to get a start in this life and prepared me well for what was to followed.

The reason Glendale is clean, safe and free of homeless is because it's an independent city with a relatively small geographic area. They have their own police, fire, trash and city services as opposed to being part of LA City/County.

But I lived there for five years and the negatives outweigh the positives if you are not part of the dominant group that runs the city, government, schools and businesses.

And the people use the street and sidewalk as their personal trash cans. Every day I would see people throwing trash out of the windows of their BMW and Mercedes. It's relatively clean because they have a good amount of sanitation workers to cover the area not because the residents have any pride in their city. Driving sucks and insurance rates are higher because insurance fraud is a cottage industry. There is a lot of organized crime. Look at the number of banquet halls and other businesses that make no money that occupy prime real estate on every block.

A lot of social services and welfare hustling by "the Dominant Group" in Glendale too.

Drive a flashy European car, smoke like a train and get EBT and a check from the State for being your grandma's "caretaker".

It's amazing.
