That might be the old mocking name we used to call it, but USC has tightened up in terms of its admissions acceptance rates and academic reputation over the last couple of decades. It's as selective as UCLA and Cal these days...and maybe a little more.

I can't comment on whether or not the thread is SoCal bashing. However, the reason that USC is garnering an outsized amount of attention is because of the insane $500k that the Loughlin-Giannullis paid to get their two daughters of questionable intellect into the school. The two headline-grabbing names (Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman) in this scandal are associated with the film/television industry, and both also happen to live in Los Angeles.

$500k just to say her daughter “attends” USC. Lol. Just look her up on her YouTube and you’ll know what I mean. Lol.

You didn't list the requirements that UCLA expects. It takes a lot more than just earning 60 credits at a random CC, so no, I would not call it "relatively easy." It is possibly easier than what's required of an incoming freshman, but only because the applicant would have, at a minimum, proven that he or she could do the academic work as an incoming junior.

Harvard is the same school that was sued because they have different admission standards for Asian students then the rest of the applicants.
