Highest Concentration of single ladies - Where? (Los Angeles, Santa Monica: homes, buying)

Hi All,

I've visited Los Angeles a handful of times. Love the vibe of the city. Traffic not so much. Thinking about making Los Angeles one of my go to places where I lay roots for a few months each year.

I've checked out a handful of areas including Koreatown, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica. Not sure if it's just bad timing or if I was just in the wrong place, but I have not seen as many single women walking around as I expected.

Wondering if there are any parts of Los Angeles that have a higher concentration of women than others? Ideally in the 30-40 range. Professional working class. Prefer black women, but open to other races. I'm not much of a bar hopper. Don't really do clubs either.

Any suggestions on areas in L.A. that would be ideal for running into single women? Hoping to find a place to live as close to the action as possible.

1)West Hollywood is a gay Mecca, mostly male gays.
2)Per the last census, Los Angeles' Black population is only 9%.
3)Koreatown attracts the 20-somethings. More of the clubbing type.
4)Santa Monica is more outdoorsy. Most younger people can't afford it, so more your age.
5)People drive everywhere. Low chance of meeting someone on the street.
6)Dating apps and Meetup.com are the usual ways to connect with people, as told to me by friends who date and like meeting people with shared interests.

Young single women walking around can be found in the various artsy districts: Noho Arts, Arts Downtown, Silver Lake, etc. LA isn’t a black city so can’t really help there.

I am 30 and live in Santa Monica. I have a ton of single women friends my age that live here. There are a zillion single females that frequent our city and beach. They may not live here, but they’re around for meeting.

Probably Palm Springs. Generally women live longer than men do and Palm Springs has a large retiree community.

I’m going to have to agree with you on the Inland Empire. Many new young millennials buying starter homes at reasonable prices all over.
