Hi guys,

I will be working in Santa Fe Springs and I'm wondering about possible places/neighborhoods to live in. I'd like to have a short commute (<40 min) but still live in a neighborhood with things to do over the weekend. I'm also looking for a studio or 1 bedroom at a price upto $2000 including utilities (but lower would be better; more savings), and would need a place to park my car (designated parking or street parking that isn't too difficult to find). Any recommendations?

I'd look into Fullerton or Orange.

You'll be able to keep the commute under 40 minutes and those are safe areas with good restaurants, bars, etc.

Thanks! I'll look into those. Also, what are your thoughts on Long Beach? Is it too long of a commute and expensive? What about Artesia and Buena Park?

Long Beach sounds like a perfect fit for you. Belmont shore and Alamitos beach to be specific these are safe areas by the beach for the most reasonable price in all of Southern California. The commute is about 30-40 down the 605 winch is bad, but not the 405/10/91/5 level of bad. Plenty of places in your price range not to mention walkable areas with great weather!!

Just remember Santa Fe springs is practically dead center of the LA basin winch is essentially the Central organ of the almost 19 million greater LA area. This is one of those parts of towns where people aren't just communiting one way, but EVERY way. Lol it's not that bad though.

I'll admit I'm also biased towards the beach. If you're not a beach person then maybe some of the surrounding towns would be a good bet. To me though those areas are a little too suburban to be worth it. They have great good though I'll admit.
