Does anybody know where in Los Angeles the old Los Angeles County General Hospital was in 1931?

State and Soto in East LA. Where the 10 and the 5 meet.

Thank you. I am doing a biography on my grandpa and he was born there, but I didn't know where in Los Angeles it was.

East Los Angeles is Los Angeles County. The hospital is in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles.

its on state and marengo. the big LA county one. the new one is right in front of it.

and yes the hospital is in Boyle heights which is considered east LA, but it is not East Los proper, which begins east of indiana, and is part of the county. funny like that. but the "east los" image/name is basically anything east of the river/downtown.

FYI, apparently Marilyn Monroe, aka Norma Jean Baker, was born in the 'charity ward' of the hospital in 1926. So, the County must've built the present facility after that. I couldn't find the old location, but a thorough google might do it.

You might also want to check out Los Angeles Public Library (Los Angeles Public Library). They have a huge, searchable picture database. Might help.
