I never heard of "Warner Pines." Lived in San Fernando valley ... well I don't want to say ... before you were born.

(Not necessary to know when you were born unless before WWII.)

Where? Marian? Girard? Owensmouth? Zelzah? Walnut Acres? Park Moderne?

Route from Van Nuys to Owensmouth? Van Nuys + Owensmouth = Vanowen.

Perhaps you remember the airport just west of Topanga Plaza?
Reese Field aka Canoga Park [34-11-25 118-36-39] (19??-1953) = (P) On Shoup St, below Kittridge St, W of Topanga Canyon, S of Vanowen. Established by Gus Reese on his property. Generally private, although many local pilots claim to have used it until it was forced off the map in 1953 by encroaching real estate development. N 1000' d.

from California Airports

No, that is on Burbank Blvd. and Warner Pines is on Erwin St. I believe...it's still there. I like Warner Woodlands which is just down a block as it is set in a very natural surrounding with streaks and waterfalls and is very quiet.

Hahahaha!!! I'm not THAT old! I was probably mastering the operation of a tricycle and pushing toy trucks around in the dirt in my parents' back yard in 1953.

Oh, and running around in the sprinklers on a hot day.

Or begging the Helms man for a free cookie...or listening for the air raid sirens at 10AM, last Friday of the month, or listening to Jimi Hendrix at Devonshire Downs

Jimi Hendrix, Newport Pop Fesitval, 1969, Devonshire Downs (I can barely remember this.)

I think we are talking about the same place. The Summit has the waterfalls and streams. Its huge. Borders Erwin to the north, Shoup on the west, Oxnard on the south and Nevada st. on the west. Or are you talking about the townhomes that are just east of Topanga Canyon?

Well, that was when I was graduating UCLA with my BSEE. Now you've got me bracked. 1953: playing in the dirt with toy trucks, 1969: listening to Hendrix and looking for my first engineering job.

Gawd Hendrix was great. I'm sorry he did himself in. He, and Jim Morrison too (who I liked better then). And of course Janis Joplin.

Sorry you young folks. We had better music then.

Picking up the free "Green Sheet" on your front lawn.

Picking oranges near the groves at "Valley State".
