Malibu Canyon most likely, or Kanan Road or Topanga Canyon. There are others but those are the most likely.
Did you look at a map? Did you see any routes between Malibu and Calabasas?

I have a tax question.
If I purchase a vehicle here in SC and drive/mail it out to Ca, before I am ever a resident of Ca, do I owe use tax?

Bear in mind, people who deal drugs often can afford to live in the nicer areas for obvious reasons. They can buy multi-million homes and condos with the fortunes they make dealing drugs, so think about that. No area of Los Angeles is crime-free or scum-free.

Ive never heard of a use tax here in California. You will be required to get your car registered with the California DMV if you plan on living here. There are fees associated with this by not a tax.

Id much rather be living next to Barsini, Tatalia, Tony Montana or the Corleones than next to "June Bug", "Loco Joker", "Crazy Stranger", "Sniper" or anyone else with "Dog" in their nicknames any day of week. I could still go walking my dog through the neighborhood and walk to the local supermarket without fear of being robbed.

It's such BS that they can charge sales tax on an item I bought before I was even a resident of CA. How is that even legal?

I plugged in similar numbers except bought 1/1/08 first operated 5/1/08 and still got no use tax.

Thats because you are outside the 90 day window. I WAS planning on buying my first car when I graduated, but I will owe use tax on it since it is inside the 90 day window, even though I am not a Cali resident.

Well that figures then. I presume the use tax is a way for the state to discourage residents from buying cars out of state to avoid paying California sales tax.
Why don't you just buy it and register it at your current residence, and then reregister in California after the 90 days have passed? Do remember to insure it too.
