Parts of it are a dump, like South Central, Boyle Heights, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, and Pacoima. But the whole city? That would mean Bel Air, Brentwood, Westwood, Palisades, and Hollywood Hills, very upscale areas, are a dump as well, which is ridiculous.

Well i'm not saying that everyone should love L.A,because I know it has it's problems, but I just don't like it when people generalize an entire region.

Yes, it's true, and even the westside and the hills are worthless. Los Angeles is an overheated overpriced toilet with no future. This goes for the entire L.A. basin, including Long Beach. 10% of is being wonderful is too generous. I'd say that only .0000000000001% of it is worth a damn.
I can't wait until I have enough money to move out of here!

Maybe we can take up a collection and expedite your departure from Los Angeles, especially if you would quit bashing Los Angeles and go get a life.

Please note that MartyROtten has only 8 posts at this point, and I bet all of them are bashing Los Angeles, which causes me to wonder if maybe he created his CD account for the sole purpose of bashing Los Angeles. It makes me wonder why he can't find something more productive to fill his time.

Los Angeles is like any other city in that it has it's benefits and liabilities. I've lived here my whole life and I certainly know I have my own complaints, and in fact considering relocating probably outside California, but any fool can see that for every bad thing about LA there is another good thing that balances it out. If LA were as bad as MartyROtten says, then why do almost 4 million people live in LA? Because it's hell on earth? I think not.

I read through his post history and you are correct, all of his posts are in regard to his dislike of Los Angeles. Two things though. First off he offers no sustenance to his negative comments and many of the "facts" he passes on are pure irrational opinion. Second, his posts clearly show that he is a forum troll.... DON'T FEED THE TROLLS In other words, if someone is trolling in a thread just don't respond to them, it's useless. They are not here to legitimately offer logical information, they only want to start heated discussions.

Please note: I'm leaving L.A. when I can afford it as well, but I can and do freely admit that L.A. does have things to offer to some people depending on your circumstances and desires, even though L.A. no longer works for me.

I was trying to avoid the use of the "T" word.

I too am giving serious thought to leaving LA after living my life here and working my career here. I'm nearing retirement and the traffic and congestion are getting to me pretty bad, but even with that LA is not a bad place to live, and there are certainly plenty of good aspects to living here. And admittedly a few bad ones too. I hope to help those who want to learn more about LA get an accurate picture of what to expect, again both good and bad.

It's a shame that some people post to the forums just to be disruptive, and I've already seen the same behavior on some of the forum sections for areas I'm interested in moving too. I guess some people have nothing better to do.

Orange County is not boring. It is excitement challenged.

It is the most beautiful place on earth. It is not perfect, but the weather is great, the people are nice and the economy is among the strongest in the world.

Honestly, it is not even remotely close to being "the most beautiful place on earth", but I still love LA and will probably be here for a very long time.

I love LA!!
