There is/used to be a pretty good and cheap spaghetti place on 3rd street in the shopping plaza where K-Mart is across the stree from the Grove. Does anyone know if its still there or what it was called?

I havent been there in years since before the Grove was built and I wonder if its still there. It was kind of "tucked" in the shopping complex sort of behind K-mart right next to a newsstand. A lot of the "Older" locals used to eat there all the time.

Anyone remember or know of this place?

I really have a taste for their half spaghetti and half ravioli plate. Used to go there all the time when I was young. I remember it being super delicious and really cheap.

Yes. It was/is in the K-mart shopping plaza. The address is either 3rd street or Fairfax. Probably 3rd. Its right across from Farmers Market. There was always really long lines and they gave huge portions.

i go quite often to the whole foods in that complex, and i can't recall seeing anything like that. admittedly, i don't park at the k-mart end of the strip, so i don't pass the other stores, but the only restaurant i recall seeing on the signage is either chinese or thai.

A lot of those older businesses were torn down to build the Palazzo apartment complex. When was the last you were over there?

Man, someone HAS to know about this place. Maybe its one of those places that only REAL Angelinos know about. One of those hidden jewels that the transplants are not aware of.

It is more of a cafeteria feel to it. Not a normal restaraunt.

I think that I remember what you are talking about. It was a cool 50s style bldg with a carport thing at the fromt entrance. That was turned into a Loehmann's (clothing store) in the late 80s(I believe) then it was torn down.

Thumbs up Found it!!! - Andre's Italian

Hooray!!! I found it. Its called Andre's and I just called and they are still open for business. Wonder if I can talk to wife into making a special trip there tonight for some spaghetti.

Andre's Italian - Mid-City West - Los Angeles, CA

I think this place has been there since the 1960s (well before I was born).
