Since I moved to seattle over 5 years ago i have been using burbank airport as my airport of choice to visit my parents who live in Encino.

I either fly non stop from burbank to seattle on alaska air or southwest airlines with a plane change in Oakland.

There is an old saying if it isn't broke dont fix it. In someways I feel that way about burbank airport. In other ways the terminal at burbank is antiquated and too small.

Does anyone know if the new proposed burbank airport terminal would have more waiting area seats and more shops and restaurants??

The proposed replacement terminal at BUR will have the same number of gates as well as retain the on apron boarding and alighting of aircraft. The terminal is supposed to have more spacious gate areas with more passenger amenities.

For Airport patrons:

The same number of short-term and valet parking spaces adjacent to the terminal
The same passenger loading and unloading from the aircraft parking apron
A variety of restaurants and concessions
Wider corridors and more spacious waiting areas
Up to date facilities for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) passenger and baggage security screenings
More room for airline baggage processing and roomier baggage claim areas
Improved ticket lobby and airline check-in and baggage drop-off facilities
Adequate space for airline administrative, bag service, and ticket offices
Fully integrated designs for ADA accessibility
