Thumbs down Public Schools in Ventura??
Teachers - Parents - Students!!

Can you tell me your opinion on the public school system in Ventura? Moving there with not-yet school age child....

Papaskunk is on a distinguished road
There are good schools and bad schools here, but overall Ventura is good. Much better than Oxnard. Poinsettia Elementary is THE school to get your kid into. Obviously, you have to live in its district, which is in the midtown area and is covered by nice neighborhoods, so no problem there. There is a charter elementary school as well that requires monthly parent participation and gets a lot of praise and positive attention, so you have a couple of choices.
